Today's "What the heck, Amazon?" moment

As some of you may know, I review stuff for Amazon through their Vine program. This means twice a month they provide me a list of stuff to pick from, I select a few things, and they send them to me (free) on the condition I eventually write a review for most of what I get.

On Thursday I chose a Brother All-in-One color fax/printer doohickey as one of my items.

And today it just arrived, via FedEx priority overnight, Saturday delivery.

Usually I get things two weeks later, kinda beat up, through the post office. Guess I better get right on this...!

Electronics can't be shipped by Media mail, so they also come much faster...as do grocery items from Amazon, even if sold under Super Saver Shipping.

I got my beloved Brother printer from them, too....

Yeah, I suspect this simply came out of a warehouse that does that kind of shipping.

I have one of those mega Brother all-in-ones. It weighs eighty pounds and came to my house in an eighteen-wheeler. We call it The Behemoth.

So, do you get to keep it? :D

Oh my goodness! Mine is a lot smaller than that... I think "compact" might be somewhere in the description. Was still surprisingly heavy. I imagine overnight shipping cost about as much as the printer itself did.

I do get to keep it! Good thing too. I'm MUCH too lazy to pack things up and send them back.

Nice deal!

I got mine for writing and homeschooling. Between those two rather printing/copying-intensive pursuits, it's been worth every penny I spent on it--and unlike my other electronics, has barely given me an ounce of trouble. :D

Yah, definitely not complaining!

Though it only occurred to me a short while ago that I have no way to test the fax. Oops.

Wow, that Vine program sounds AWESOME. I wonder how you get on it?

Amazon sends invitations to people who have written what they consider to be useful reviews.

Like all things coming from Amazon, the actual results are erratic, so it's hard to tell what the exact criteria are. I'm guessing it's something like, "We need 25 more Vine reviewers. Hey there, random employee, you don't look too busy. Go search through customer profiles and pick some."

(I hadn't written any real reviews when I was invited -- just a lot of critiques of manuscripts entered in their novel contest.)

Ah, it's an invitation-only thing. That's fine, then, I was just wondering if there was some awesome program I was missing because I didn't know it existed. ♥
